Yesterday
afternoon, thousands of British harmen began storming into Washington,
setting fire to the Foresitter's house, the White House and many other
leedward buildings throughout town, leaving nothing but ashes and dead
bodies in their wake.
While America's harmen put up their best fight, they could not hold the
British off for long, and soon Foresitter James Madison had to flee
with what men he had left. This takeover of Washington is the first
time since the beginning of America that an outsider has held onto
America's main borough.
The British harmen were led by Robert Ross and George Cockburn shortly
after they won the fight of Bladensburg earlier that day. On top of
lighting everything on fire, many of the buildings were also plundered
and stolen from.
This awful deed is only the latest in many wrongdoings that have
happened since the beginning of the fight with Great Britain nearly 2
years ago. Such misdeed will likely have blowback as folks in America
become aware of their own weakness.
