King George VI Takes Kingship

13-05-1937

King George the VI swore in to his kingship today, taking the stead of his brother, Edward VIII, who stepped down late last year. At first, George VI was not looking forward to being king, but now seems to have his mind set on becoming a worthy leader of Great Britain and all of it's lands.

Born, Albert Frederick Arthur George, he took on the name George VI for his kingship, as a nod to his father, George the V. Also, George VI wanted to keep the folk's trust in their leadership, and make them feel that he would lead in like way to his father.

After the death of their father, Edward VIII was the next in line to become king. However, Edward VIII wanted to wed Wallis Simpson, an Americish woman with 2 former husbands who were still living. Once he understood that he could not wed this woman while being king, he chose to step down.

With all of his time working for the harfolk at sea in the fleet, King George VI might be the best leader to have right now as things become ever more unsteady in mainland Europe.
