A
big starship called the Long March 5B that took China’s first
starhall above earth last week and is now empty, will likely come back
down crashing into the Earth in the coming days.
The US says it is watching the empty starship body. At this speed, they
reckon the Long March 5B will come back into Earth's sky some time this
weekend, raising worries about where its scraps may hit.
Drag from the sky will make the starship body fall faster towards the
Earth. With the wild wind and high speed of the craft, it will be hard
to know when and where the ship will come back in, and will only be
known a few hours before it happens.
Some think it will land in the Pacific, since the Pacific makes up
almost a third of the earth. But where it truly lands will be unknown
until within hours of it coming down, which is thought to most likely
be on the 8th of May.
China has not said anything about it yet, and they are setting up to do
10 more liftoffs through 2022 of sundry starcraft to keep building on
their starhall.
