Wealthy
businessman Richard Branson took off from earth aboard his own winged
roddercraft Sunday, making Richard Branson the first man to ride into
the upper liftstead aboard a craft his own business had built.
This was the VSS Unity's fourth flight, but Virgin Galactic's first
manned rodderflight with a whole team on board. The team was made up of
Colin Bennett, Sirisha Bandla, lead rodderfarer teacher Beth Moses as
well as the business's starter Richard Branson himself.
The SpaceShipTwo is a winged craft with a lone flying drive. As it
comes back down, it curls it's wings making the craft go upright as it
flies into the Earth's thick liftstead and glides back down for a
runway landing.
Branson's flight came only nine days before Amazon head Jeff Bezos
wants to do his own flight into the upper liftstead aboard his
business's roddercraft. This is a lively time for the rodder trade, as
many more businesses are getting into rodderfaring, and seeking to make
leaving earth something folks do for fun.
