Turkey
and Syria were hit by an ettinish earthquake early Monday morning,
killing thousands of folks inside and nearby buildings when they fell
down. Another earthquake also hit southern Turkey not long after.
So far the death toll is over 2000, with many more folks wounded or
missing, and bodies still being pulled from broken buildings. With
leven blackouts and freezing weather, the undertaking to help everyone
is slow going.
The first quake was 7.8 strength and the one after was 7.7 on the
Richter Mete, making these Turkey's biggest earthquakes this
yearhundred. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the foresitter of Turkey said this
was the worst earthquake since 1939, and that caregivers were working
as hard as they could to help everyone.
Turkey was already dealing with a harsh winter before these quakes
struck, and Syria was working to build back their towns that were torn
down amid fighting in their borougherwye. These earthquakes could not
have hit at a worse time, and both riches are undergoing great hardship.
