Yesterday,
El Salvador held an overall wale to choose who their new foresitter
would be in 2024. Out of everyone running, the former foresitter, Nayib
Bukele, got the most wales by far, making him the winner by a
landslide. Altogether, Bukele got about 83% of the wales, with the main
runners-up, Manuel Flores and Joel Sanchez, getting only about 7% and
6% each.
Nayib Armando Bukele Ortez was born in 1981, in San Salvador, the main
borough of El Salvador. Bukele learned law at Central American
University, a Catholic lorehouse. Before becoming foresitter for the
first time, Bukele was boroughreeve of both Nuevo Cuscatlan in 2012,
and San Salvador in 2015.
Bukele's first foresittership was in 2019, where he made a name for
himself by starting his own wieldcrafty fold called "Nuevas Ideas".
Under Bukele's watch, El Salvador did some truly new things, such as
making Bitcoin lawful for doing business with. While he has been called
out as a harsh leader by news outlets, he is seemingly well liked by
Salvadorans.
