The
US has made their first soft landing on the Moon in over 50 years. On
Thursday, the Odysseus moon lander, built by Intuitive Machines, landed
on the southern side of the Moon. While the broadcast is weak, a link
has been made between the lander and Earth, and lore is being sent back.
The leaders of the undertaking said that without any asking, they had
landed on the skin of the moon. The head of Intuitive Machines, a
starfaring business, said "I know this was a nail-biter, but we have
landed and are broadcasting. Welcome to the Moon."
Intuitive Machines is not the only business fanding to get drones to
the Moon. Last month, Astrobotic Technology also gave a go at it, but
sadly their lander fell back to Earth and burned up shortly after
liftoff.
While getting any craft to land on the Moon without breaking is a big
win, it has been said that the lander fell on its side after landing.
The worries about the whole undertaking being a loss has led the worth
of Intuitive Machines' stock to drop nearly 30%.
