A
big-time lib dealer from Mexico, known as El Mayo, as well as one of El
Chapo's sons, were locked up in El Paso yesterday. Ismael Zambada (El
Mayo) and Joaquin Guzman Lopez (El Chapo's son) were both taken into
FBI oversight on Thursday amid a sting at a landing strip in El Paso.
Zambada and Guzman Lopez are two of the higher-ups in Mexico's Sinaloa
gang, one of the biggest outlaw networks in Mexico. They are said to be
one of the main dealers of libs that are made in Columbia and then
shipped into the US by boat or liftcraft.
The Sinaloa gang has also been known as the Guzman-Zambada business, as
El Chapo and El Mayo were known to be working tightly together.
However, since El Chapo's lockup in the US, El Mayo has been the main
leader of the gang in the meantime.
It is said that Guzman Lopez told Zambada that their flight was taking
them to look at land, but instead they flew into the US. Leaders in the
US are saying this is a big win for upholding the law and a big setback
for outlaw gangs in Mexico.
