The
man who started the Telegram chat software, Pavel Durov, was locked up
in France over the weekend. Durov's liftcraft was flying in from
Azerbaijan to a landing strip outside Paris, but French lawwards were
ready and biding for him.
Pavel Durov and his brother started out making the Russish friend
network now known as VK. Since then, Durov sold his shares in the
business and left Russia to go live in Saint Kitts and Nevis, where he
began working on his next undertaking, Telegram.
Telegram is a chat software that quickly grew into one of the biggest
worldwide, up there with the likes of WeChat and WhatsApp. Worries
about unlawful lib dealing and other wrongdeeds have often been thrown
at Telegram. Russia even fanded to ban Telegram in 2018.
Notwithstanding the strikes on their software, Durov has been a
long-time backer of free speech and has gone against the sickerhood
overseers of sundry riches before, so it is yet to be seen if Durov's
lockup in France will mean anything for Telegram going forward.
