The
southeastern US has been struck by a great storm named Ist Helene,
which led to widespread flooding that did untold swathes of aught harm
and killed many helpless folks living there. Other riches nearby, as
well as FEMA and The Salvation Army, have sent in plight workers to
help those in need.
Starting in the Gulf of Mexico, the storm worked its way north, growing
mightier as it went, until it made landfall in Florida. As it went
further inland, the winds slowed down, but much of the southeastern US
still got tons of rain and flooding.
While North Carolina and South Carolina had the worst of the flooding,
many other riches were harmed as well. Films spread on the web showed
buildings and bridges being washed away like playthings in the
overflowing waterways.
The harm done to buildings and other aught folks owned is said to be
well into the threefold thousands, but the reckoning is still not fully
done. Altogether, there have been at least 120 known deaths, with a few
hundred more folks still missing.
