Yesterday,
two ships in the North Sea struck each other, starting fires on both
and maybe killing one seaman. One ship, bearing shipping boxes, ran
into another ship that was loaded with oil and liftcraft tinder, which
is quick to start fires if not handled with care.
The first ship, Stena Immaculate, was sitting still in the water when
it was struck on the left side by the twoth ship, Solong. Fires broke
out right away, and films on the web can be seen with heavy smoke
rising from both of the ships.
Being off the east shore of England, the UK fleet was called for help,
and soon firefighting ships and liftcraft showed up to help. It is said
that all 20 workers from the Stena were found, but that one from the
Solong is still missing and thought to be dead.
The UK leedward is still underseeking the mishap and has said that
there could have been foul play, but they don't know yet. While there
was a fog warning at the time of the mishap, selfshrithing reckoner
setups should have stopped a strike from happening.
