Dolly Parton was born to an unwealthy maith in East Tennessee. Singing was a highlight of her daily life from a young eld. When she was a teen, she went to Nashville to go after her dream of becoming a songwriting star. It was not long before her dream came true.

Parton made many hit folk songs, such as "Jolene," "9 to 5," and "I Will Always Love You." After making it big in the singing world, she went on to become a business woman as well, starting the playland Dollywood.

After doing so well for herself in business, Parton wanted to give something back. So she started Imagination Library, an undertaking that sent children books every month for free. She will be missed by her kin and many Americans who loved her.
